The balls were officially launched in a special match organized at Nyanya field, Abuja, on Friday 4th October 2019. In his closing remarks at the end of the match, the Initiative's Chief Operations Officer, Mr Essien Bob reiterated the Organisation's commitment to ensuring the success of loofball, adding that given the necessary awareness and support, he envisions the sport as one the top sporting activities in Nigeria and beyond.
"As we launch these balls today, I'll like assure you that we're doing all we can to ensure that loofball becomes a success. A journey of a thousand miles they say begins with a step, and this is the first step.
"We're growing from strength to strength. And I believe that, all things being equal, loofball will rate among the now established sports in the not-too-distant future." Said Mr Essien.
He encouraged them to remain physically active and positive towards the game and keep up the spirit of sportsmanship. He also rewarded outstanding players from the match with some prizes.
Besides being used for sport, the colourful 4 panel balls can be also used for other indoor and outdoor purposes such as house decoration, pastime for kids, cars, occasions, etc.
