LSD Initiative visits partner schools
Sequel to the approval by the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) to formally introduce loofball in selected schools within the Federal Capital Territory, the LSD Initiative team, on Tuesday 24th January, embarked on a familiarization tour of the selected schools.
Modalities on how to run and sustain loofball in the schools were discussed with the school authorities.
In their reaction to the visit, the Head Teachers/Principals of the schools welcomed the new sport and promised their full support and cooperation in implementing the UBEB's approval.
The Principal of JSS Nyanya II, while welcoming the team, was quoted saying: “You never underrate a sport because it is in sport that the dullest in the classroom can become the best.
“This is a good project especially for the youth. Nothing attracts young people like sport and physical activity.”
The LSD Initiative team led by the Sport Director, Mr. Edet Uye, also assured the school authorities of The Organization’s commitment to making loofball a leading youth sport in Nigeria.
