Three renowned and veteran sport administrators and enthusiasts, Mallam Alhassan Yakmut, Prof. Stephen Hamafyelto and Chief Emmanuel Ede, have been appointed patrons of Loofball Sport Development Initiative (LSDI).
Also appointed as the Grand Patron of LSDI is the Hama Bachama, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ismaila Daniel Shaga (OON). The traditional ruler is a well-known lover of sport and one who believes in the power of sport to promote peaceful coexistence and mitigate social vices. Having served as the Director General and Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) between 2003 and 2005, Dr. Shaga is also highly revered for his unwavering anti-drug abuse campaigns.
Reacting to the development, the Executive Director of LSDI, Mr. Winner Vidiyeno Matahula, said the appointments was a unanimous decision of the management and trustees and in line with the organization's roadmap and vision. According to him, the appointments will to a great extent help improve the credibility of the organization. Mr. Matahula further wished the patrons a salutary mentorship and contribution to the growth and development of loofball as well as the organization.
