Report on ''Building and Engaging ERG Communities for Social Impact'' program

It was on Wednesday 28 September, 2022, when participants from different organizations, including LSDI, were drawn into a webinar session to brainstorm most recent ways to help employees improve their volunteering performance in their host communities. 

The webinar titled ''Building and Engaging ERG Communities for Social Impact'', was quite unique and inclusive as Goodera, an Indian company, linked together over hundred companies via the web. 

ERG which means "Employee Resource Groups" was opened for leaders of companies to maximize their social impacts. A case study was Citrix, a women-based organization whose goal was to increase membership coverage from 25% to 40%.

The purpose of ERGs includes but not limited to; 

1. Increase engagement
2. Align with business objective
3. Strengthen your brand
4. Serve your community

According to Timothy Anson of Chezie and co-host of the webinar, organizations that make success in terms of CSR, shouldn't fail to celebrate such success. In case of an upcoming event, regular, yet specially designed emails should be sent to members. Mr. Anson further emphasized that calendar should be designed to keep communities abreast of such event.

Consistency which is key in measuring organization's ERGs, was the final part of the discussion.
